Mother’s Advice, 22 Perfect Pearls of Wisdom from Mom
She was your social secretary, doctor, banker, chauffeur, your personal chef and probably even your therapist! You had a problem, she had a solution. You had questions, she had answers. Yep, mom certainly helped guide the way. Heck, for some of us, she still does! Whether it was to always wear clean underwear or the importance of a handwritten thank you note, everyone has their favorite. For me, it was to make my bed every day, and boy could my Mother give any Ritz Carlton bed-maker a run for their money! Now, as an adult, I may not have time to make my bed every day (I can see her shaking her head at me now) but when I do, I realize what a luxury it is to slip in between the neat sheets and covers at the end of a long day. Thanks Mom!

We asked around the Julianna Rae office and polled our friends and family to find out what their favorite Mother’s advice was and here are 22 memorable lines we wanted to share…
- The importance of family dinners
- Search for the truth – about everything including yourself
- Don’t fry bacon in a tank top
- Eat often and eat a lot
- If you don’t appreciate what you have, how is more going to help you?
- Make time for tea time
- Don’t be afraid to say “no” to your boss
- Life is too short to hold grudges
- It’s not only what you say but how you say it
- Be a great neighbor
- Manners are free
- When buying a car, the monthly payment should never be more than one week’s pay
- Will you remember this in five years?
- It’s okay to admit motherhood is hard and not always fun
- Don’t turn on the ceiling fan if you have an important stack of papers or bills in that room!
- You only have one reputation
- Go back and finish the fight yourself – I am not finishing it for you
- Marry someone who can fix your car (you too, guys!)
- Never forget how it felt to be young and free
- Things will look better in the morning
- Never do anything you don’t want printed on the front page of the newspaper
- Shut the door – you weren’t born in a barn
What’s your favorite advice from your Mom? Share it with us on a post to our Facebook Page and remember… your Mother was right about everything and sooner or later we all quote our Mothers!
